North East crafts now available online: A new web based portal called GISKAA [www.giskaa.com] was recently launched that is aimed at bringing the North East of the country closer to you.  This part of the country is home to unique crafts and artisans and the best of these are now available for you to browse through, understand and buy through GISKAA.

As the promoter’s of this new venture say – “Here individuals from its remotest hills and forests can share artifacts from their untouched cultures with you. You will learn about its diversity, its uniqueness, the rarity of its many tribes, and the joy of its community living. You will hold the colors and shapes of its mystique in your hands, you will wear the spirit of its tribes, you will bring the joy and uniqueness of its culture inside your home, but above all you will connect with this fascinating land and its people.”

We understand that GISKAA works closely with artisans and craftsmen on the ground with a mission to deliver a sustainable means of livelihood for them and thereby generating employment in the region.  The shop is said to have over a 1,000 different products from all the 8 north eastern states – Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Tripura.

We are quite excited to spread the word about this portal as it encourages entrepreneurship and employment in the region that we operate in.  Do have a look at this site and share your feedback with us.
